Permit Power

Permit Power is working to make clean energy more affordable and accessible by addressing bureaucratic barriers that make rooftop solar 7-8 times more expensive in the U.S. compared to other developed countries. These obstacles include lengthy, complex local permitting processes and utility interconnection delays. Building on successful legislation in California and Maryland, which established pathways for instant online permits for rooftop solar and home battery installations, Permit Power is advocating for related legislation in seven states in 2025.
