Produced by experienced journalists, the guides reached more than 7 million voters in 2024 and more than 1.5 million in 2025 through print and digital distribution, supported by a network of 700+ partners. For 2026, guides.vote will produce guides for the most important Senate, Governor and House races. With support from 1.5°Climate, they will expand to cover utility commission races in Arizona, Georgia, and Louisiana. Funding will go toward research, writing, translation, and distribution for these often-overlooked races affecting energy costs, utility regulation, infrastructure, and climate-related policy.

The food system is one of the most powerful levers to address the climate crisis; research shows that shifting to plant-rich diets offers a higher climate return on investment than renewable energy or electric vehicles. Greener by Default works with hospitals, universities, and corporations, providing support to chefs and operators to nudge diners towards low-carbon, plant-rich meals while preserving freedom of choice. In the past three years, we have transitioned approximately 8 million meals from meat-based to plant-based. This is a high-impact, proven, scalable solution that reduces the carbon footprint of foodservice by 10-50%, while keeping diners happy.

Illinois Environmental Council

In 2026, IEC aims to pass legislation addressing data centers’ extensive energy and water use, including a requirement to “Bring Your Own New Clean Capacity and Energy” (BYONCCE). As the convener of Illinois’ environmental movement, IEC is uniquely situated to bring together the normally siloed clean energy, water, and agriculture stakeholders who will need to speak with one voice to counter deep-pocketed industry influence.
