Rural Electric Co-op (REC) elections are an overlooked, high-leverage opportunity to decarbonize the Midwest. By electing pro-clean energy board members, CivicIQ’s digital segmentation and voter engagement model can scale nationally to accelerate the U.S. clean energy transition. With support from 1.5°Climate, CivicIQ will run six coordinated REC pilots across Michigan, Indiana, and Missouri alongside state partners—building scalable rural digital infrastructure and proving a repeatable model for online REC Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) campaigns.
